The datasets below are published in response to information frequently requested under the Freedom of Information Act regarding business rates. The data is updated every 6-8 weeks.

Please note the following exclusions:

  • the account reference as this is used for security purposes

  • the names of individuals due to data protection reasons.

We do not disclose the names of individuals as doing so would breach the Data Protection Act's data protection principles. The first principle states that personal information must be processed fairly and lawfully. Sole traders reasonably expect that their names will not be published and therefore this information is exempt.
