The Development Plan provides the framework for all development in Huntingdonshire.
Development plans are important because they set out how we want Huntingdonshire to look and feel. They guide new developments to appropriate locations whilst protecting and improving the environment and people’s quality of life. They are used to help decide planning applications and investment decisions across the district.

These Development Plans are supported by a series of other planning policy documents.
The Core Strategy, Huntingdon West Area Action Plan, Local Plan 1995 and the Local Plan Alteration 2002 will be replaced by the Local Plan to 2036 after it is adopted.
