Discretionary Top-Up Grant

Huntingdonshire District Council has administered a variety of government business grant schemes, paying out over £54 million through over 11,500 payments. We have reviewed the grants that have been paid out since November 2020 to local businesses from the following discretionary schemes:

  • Additional Restrictions Grant

  • Additional Restrictions Grant Extension

  • Enhanced Additional Restrictions Grant.

Following this review, we are in a position to provide a single 'top-up' grant to businesses. This will enable us to distribute the remainder of the fixed amount the government provided to us to local businesses across Huntingdonshire that have successfully applied for any of the grant schemes named.

Final calculations are taking place and we are carrying out a fresh round of fraud checks and payment will be made to businesses that pass.

I received a discretionary grant what do I need to do?

To confirm your acceptance you do not need to do anything, but please be aware that by accepting the grant payment, you are declaring that:

  • your business will not exceed the Business Grant Subsidy Allowance

  • your business is not in administration, not insolvent, and not subject to a striking-off notice.

We will be processing grants and sending payments to the account details that have already been supplied to us.

Payments will be made by 30 June 2021. Please note that BACS payments can take up to 5 working days to process and transfer from our bank to your bank account.

I want to apply for this discretionary grant - what do I need to do?

This discretionary grant is not open to new applications as it is a top-up using funds specifically allocated to Additional Restrictions Grants that had been applied for before 31 May.

However, we are anticipating another round of funding from the government and will keep this page updated with any changes, including any new application processes.
