Are you interested in how local government works and what councillors are paid?

Huntingdonshire District Council is looking for people, passionate about the local area, to join an Independent Remuneration Panel (IRP) to help review our Members’ Allowances Scheme in 2022.

The IRP recommends the level of allowances paid to councillors and other non-elected people such as co-opted members. The aim of the IRP is to ensure that the setting of allowances is open to robust, independent and local scrutiny.

We are looking for people who:

  • know the area well along with its broad community issues

  • are impartial and committed to accountability, honesty, openness and equality.

In return you can look forward to doing something interesting and worthwhile for the local community. You will be paid a flat rate of £250 per review plus travelling expenses. Full reviews are conducted every 4 years with the next review scheduled to commence later this year. Partial reviews may also be undertaken on an ad-hoc basis.
