Huntingdonshire District Council is using £157,000 of allocated funding from the UK Government Welcome Back Fund, via the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), working with local businesses, community groups, your town councils and organisations such as the Huntingdon’s Business Improvement District and Huntingdonshire Business Against Crime. This builds on the Reopening High Streets Safely Fund, allocated to councils in 2020, through which HDC was allocated £157,000 of funding.

We are focusing on supporting small to medium-sized businesses in our market town high streets to thrive and encourage our community to Think Local, choosing to support our local economy when they can, safely.

This includes:

  • support to develop our local action plans

  • communications and information for reopening our towns and operating safely

  • communications supporting the small and medium-sized businesses that make our unique towns special

  • business-facing activities to support local businesses to thrive

  • public-facing campaigns to encourage residents and visitors to explore the district and support local businesses.
