Huntingdonshire District Council is pleased to be working in partnership with Longhurst Housing Group, one of our partner housing associations, on a new development of affordable homes with the initiative to provide a majority of the homes for key workers.

The 95-home development (of which 80 will be for key workers) is located at Alconbury Weald and the lettings will be managed by Longhurst Group. It includes accommodation for rent and shared-ownership ranging from 1-bedroom apartments to 4-bedroom houses. The remaining 15 homes for rent will be provided for residents on the District Council’s housing register.

Executive Leader of the Council, Cllr Ryan Fuller, said: "We are very pleased that this development has come to fruition through careful planning and policymaking. We are consistently looking to develop more affordable homes for existing and future residents of Huntingdonshire to meet the requirements of our residents.

"We are continuing the momentum of two successful years in terms of delivering affordable homes across Huntingdonshire, and an initiative like this is another example of what we are trying to achieve to meet the housing needs of our residents. We are working to give increased priority to key workers in Huntingdonshire through this scheme and provide the opportunity for those who work in essential fields to fulfil their dreams of living in good quality affordable homes within the district."

Longhurst Group will be managing the lettings and sales of this affordable homes scheme and will aim to target local employers within the district initially. For further information on homes for rent on the development, visit the Longhurst Group website.
