Huntingdonshire District Council has been made aware of a person seen wearing the council’s hi-viz uniform accessing a resident’s garden unnecessarily.

The council would like to reassure residents that its waste collection crews would never have reason to be in anyone’s garden, unless prior arrangements have been made for an assisted collection. The collection crews know where these are and know exactly where collections are to be made from. You would also not see any of our collection crews before 6am.

Cllr Marge Beuttell, whose executive responsibilities include Operations, said: "All of our employees are issued with ID cards, so if you are concerned they would be more than happy to disclose this to you, or you can call the council on 01480 388640. This is something we don’t want to be repeated, and we advise our residents to be aware and be assured that if you are in doubt our collection crews will happily show their ID."
