Huntingdonshire District Council is working with Cambridge based digital agency Sookio to provide free social media training to businesses in the district.

Executive Leader of Huntingdonshire District Council, Cllr Ryan Fuller said: "These workshops are part of our long-term recovery plan for the district and town centres, as an opportunity to give businesses a helping hand in operating in a post-pandemic environment. We want to empower businesses that may not yet have explored the digital marketplace or even those that do already have some experience of digital marketing."

Sessions take place on 16 and 23 March from 10:00-12:00 and will cover the following points:

Session one: Social media basics

  • How can social media benefit you?

  • Mini case studies for inspiration, showing Hunts people doing it, brilliantly!

  • Overview of the main platforms and how you can use them to great effect

  • What makes an engaging post? Tips on visual, captions, hashtags

  • Homework for next time

Session two: Let’s get strategic

  • Follow up on homework from session one

  • Tips and tools to save you time

  • What will you post about?

  • What should you measure?

  • Activity to plan content around an upcoming event or launch
