Huntingdonshire District Council has relaunched the Pre-Application Planning Advice Service, allowing agents and residents across the district to access planning advice before submitting planning applications.

The service was previously paused due to complications arising from the COVID-19 pandemic and associated resource limitations. However, we have been working hard over the last few months to revamp pre-application planning advice, creating an efficient and effective service for residents and agents to access and utilise.

Executive Councillor for Planning, Cllr Tom Sanderson, said: "Some fantastic work has gone on behind the scenes at the council to get the Pre-Application Planning Advice Service back up and running. It is a much-improved system, with revamped fees and a digital enquiry system that will aid to increase efficiency and effectiveness for applicants.

"Relaunching the service opens up the opportunity for applicants to be informed on a much greater level before submitting planning applications, which means that they can submit applications with confidence."

The revamped system offers a completely digital enquiry process, allowing applicants to submit requests and pay for pre-application advice through the council's website. The service allows the council to show early signs of acceptability and provide detailed comments which applicants can use the make their submission of a higher quality and, ultimately, streamline the process for both parties.
