Do you thrive in a fast-paced events environment and enjoy leading teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences? Are you equally comfortable coordinating large-scale events, managing operational challenges and developing people to perform at their best? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
At Burgess Hall, we host a diverse programme of events that bring communities together, from conferences and exhibitions to entertainment and hospitality functions. We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Events Operations Manager to play a key role in the successful day-to-day operation of one of the area's leading event venues.
About the role
As Events Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Burgess Hall, ensuring events and functions are delivered safely, professionally and to the highest standards of customer service.
Working closely with the Events & Hospitality Manager, you will oversee venue operations, coordinate event delivery, manage staff and support the ongoing development of services and facilities.
This is a varied and hands-on leadership role where no two days are the same.
You will lead operational teams, oversee event schedules, support hospitality services, manage customer relationships and ensure the venue is presented to an exceptional standard. You will also take the lead on selected events from initial planning through to successful delivery, helping to maximise customer satisfaction and commercial performance.
Alongside operational responsibilities, you will contribute to the marketing, promotion and continued growth of Burgess Hall, identifying opportunities to enhance services, attract new business and strengthen the venue's reputation across Huntingdonshire and beyond.
As Burgess Hall operates a varied and exciting programme of events throughout the year, this role is delivered on a rota-based basis and includes regular evening and weekend working to support functions, performances and community events.
About you
You will have experience supervising or managing teams within a hospitality, events or customer-focused environment and will be confident leading people in a busy operational setting. You'll be a proactive problem solver who can make sound decisions, adapt quickly to changing priorities and remain focused on delivering outstanding customer experiences.
We're looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills who can build strong relationships with customers, colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders. You'll have a strong understanding of customer service, operational management and health and safety, together with the ability to motivate teams and maintain high standards across all aspects of venue operations.
Experience within an events or hospitality setting is essential, and you'll be comfortable working flexibly, including evenings and weekends when required to support events and business needs.
If you're ready to take the next step in your events and hospitality career and help shape the future success of Burgess Hall, we'd love to hear from you.
An offer of employment is conditional upon having the right to work in the UK. HDC does not hold a Sponsorship Licence and is unable to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) or take over sponsorship for any role.
