The Active Lifestyles team at Huntingdonshire District Council provides an extensive physical activity programme focusing on getting more individuals active.

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about supporting our resident’s health and well-being to join the team on a permanent basis.

The post holder will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of the Exercise Referral Scheme across the One Leisure Facilities in Huntingdonshire to our residents.

You will need current qualifications in Level 3 Exercise Referral, at least one Level 4 specialist conditions qualification or the ability to achieve within 6 months, and a proven experience of developing and delivering high-quality physical activity opportunities to various population groups.

Following the Covid pandemic group exercise for specialist conditions has grown rapidly.

We now wish to focus on developing the individual-based Exercise Referral Scheme to the same levels. You will be responsible for the management of direct reports, expected to prescribe 1:1 exercise programming to individuals, deliver group exercise within a leisure centre setting or in the community; promote, advocate, and foster a 'health and wellbeing' community, and help us to celebrate our successes.

An assured, confident manner, a flexible approach, a source of new innovative ideas, and excellent administrative skills with an attention to detail are essential. As is the ability to build effective relationships in this outward-facing coordinator role.
