Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) is passionate about providing high-quality services to our communities, residents and businesses. This means we must employ and retain the most talented and dedicated people.

Situated within the heart of the Cambridge-Peterborough Growth Area, Huntingdonshire is a beautiful district that boasts thriving market towns and many attractive villages, each with its own identity. We are an innovative and forward-thinking local authority whose residents are at the heart of our decision-making.

At HDC we want to employ staff who embody our icare values (Inspiring, Collaborative, Accountable, Respectful, Enterprising), all of which support our ultimate purpose of putting our customers first.

Job details

We are seeking a confident and well-organised individual to assist in our Local Land Charges (LLC) service, providing search responses to the conveyancing sector part of the house-buying process.

You will assist with the maintenance of the Local Land Charges Register, answering enquiries and providing searches and certificates for Local Land Charges (LLC) and Local Authority (Con29) enquiries.

You may already be working within this service or have experience working in a planning or housing department, or an interest in developing a career in this area. You will have solid administrative and database inputting skills, strong attention to detail and be able to carry out research work on your initiative.

You will need the ability to analyse and interpret data (including spatial mapping data) to provide answers to questions contained in search requests. You will be confident in using IT databases (any experience with Idox TLC or Uniform is advantageous but not essential).

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, has good communication skills and is adept at managing their own workload in meeting demanding deadlines.

The successful candidate will need to work well as part of a small team and have the ability to build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues in other departments and external organisations.

The post holder should have the ability to work flexibly and hybrid working arrangements will be available. However, there will also be a requirement to undertake office-based activities within the role as required and you should therefore be within commutable distance to our offices in Huntingdon.

We know our people are our greatest asset and are committed to the development of our colleagues. If you are looking to start your career or to further develop, we are delighted to support a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship for the successful candidate.

An offer of employment is conditional upon having the right to work in the UK. Huntingdonshire District Council does not hold a Sponsorship Licence and are unable to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) or take over Sponsorship for any role.
