Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) is passionate about providing high-quality services to our communities, residents and businesses. This means we must employ and retain the most talented and dedicated people.

Situated within the heart of the Cambridge-Peterborough Growth Area, Huntingdonshire is a beautiful district that boasts thriving market towns and many attractive villages, each with its own identity. We are an innovative and forward-thinking local authority whose residents are at the heart of our decision-making.

At HDC we want to employ staff who embody our icare values (Inspiring, Collaborative, Accountable, Respectful, Enterprising), all of which support our ultimate purpose of putting our customers first.

Job details

Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? We are looking for a motivated and dedicated Place Strategy Support Officer to join our team at Huntingdonshire District Council.

We value the importance of work-life balance and understand that flexibility can enhance both employee well-being and service delivery. As a Place Strategy Support Officer, you will have the opportunity to work a flexible pattern that balances your individual needs alongside the requirements of the team.

About the role

In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the Huntingdonshire Futures programme, a Place Strategy which aims to influence better outcomes for our residents and communities to ensure Huntingdonshire continues to be one of the best places to live in the country.

You will be responsible for administering the Huntingdonshire Futures grant scheme, an initiative designed to support community projects. Additionally, you will organise events, manage communications, and support the programme by collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to promote positive outcomes for Huntingdonshire. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that shape our community's future.

About you

We are seeking a candidate who is proactive, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent communication skills.

You should have experience working with diverse stakeholders and a dedication to serving the public. A background in administrative roles, particularly within local government, would be advantageous but is not essential. Your ability to manage multiple tasks, demonstrate strong organisational skills, and work collaboratively in a team setting will be key to your success in this role. If you have a 'can-do' attitude, are eager to learn new skills, and are ready to embrace the challenges that come with making a difference, we want to hear from you.

This role allows you to contribute to a variety of projects but also offers the flexibility to adapt your working hours to suit your lifestyle.

An offer of employment is conditional upon having the right to work in the UK. Huntingdonshire District Council does not hold a Sponsorship Licence and is unable to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) or take over sponsorship for any role.
