Huntingdonshire District Council is pleased to announce the successful delivery of three new information boards in Tilbrook, funded through the Huntingdonshire Futures grant scheme.

Created by Tilbrook Parish Council, these boards are designed to help the local community and visitors explore the area's natural beauty. They feature a range of walking routes from 3km to 9km, guiding explorers through scenic landscapes including rivers, villages and woodlands.

This project aligns with the overarching goal of the Huntingdonshire Futures grant scheme, which aims to enhance the quality of life across the district for the next 30 years - making it a better place to live, work, and visit.

Since its launch, the Huntingdonshire Futures grant scheme has provided £40,000 in funding, supporting 28 community groups, local organisations, and town and parish councils across the district.

Executive Leader, Chair of the Cabinet and Executive Councillor for Place, Group Leader, Liberal Democrats, Cllr Sarah Conboy, said: "As a council, we are thrilled to support Tilbrook Parish Council in delivering these new information boards, which will help both residents and visitors enjoy the area's natural beauty. This project embodies the spirit of the Huntingdonshire Futures grant scheme - enhancing our communities and making the district a better place to live, work, and explore. We are proud to see the positive impact this funding continues to have across Huntingdonshire."

Chairman of Tilbrook Parish Council, Cllr Paul Wilcock, said: !Tilbrook Parish Council has been looking to improve facilities within the small village which lies close to the county tripoint of Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire. Over the past 2 years we have worked hard to put together various walking and cycling routes which we hope villagers and Huntingdonshire residents will be able use as a guide to enjoy the wonderful countryside which we are lucky to have on our doorstep.

"Walks of 40 minutes up to 2 hours are on offer and all abilities should be able to find a suitable route whilst cyclists will be encouraged to peddle the 4 routes available from 7 miles up to 17 miles taking in all 3 counties."

"We feel very fortunate to have been offered a grant from the HDC Futures Grant Scheme and with the help of a small band of volunteers has helped us to get the project to completion. We look forward to seeing walkers and cyclists out and about enjoying the Huntingdonshire countryside and hope the "Tilbrook Through the Ages" information board, situated by the river, will offer an insight into the local and village history."
