Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) is pleased to share updates on The Old Falcon redevelopment in St Neots.

Residents are invited to a public information event on Saturday 31 August 2024, from 10am to 4pm at the Market Square. This event provides a valuable opportunity for residents to explore the design proposals and understand the project's challenges ahead of the planning application being submitted in September 2024.

Although The Old Falcon is privately owned and will remain so, HDC has been collaborating with the owner and stakeholders to secure its future. Significant progress has been made, including detailed structural and condition surveys, the appointment of a skilled design team and heritage consultants, and market testing.

Executive Councillor for Economy, Regeneration and Housing, Cllr Sam Wakeford, said: "These plans for the Old Falcon are a significant step for our St Neots projects. Bringing the Old Falcon back into active use as part of enhancing the town centre will help improve conditions for local businesses, boost footfall and create a more vibrant community space."

This redevelopment is part of a larger initiative aimed at enhancing St Neots Town Centre, which includes improvements to the market square, High Street, bridge, and Priory Centre. The total investment in St Neots High Street is around £15 million, sourced from a variety of funds, including £3.7 million from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) previously Department of Levelling Up, Housing & Communities (DLUHC).
