An election will be held on Thursday 2 May 2024 for the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cambridgeshire.

Registering to vote and voting by post or proxy

The deadline to register to vote in this election is Tuesday 16 April 2024. At these elections, you will need to provide photographic identification before you can vote at a polling station. Read our voter ID page to learn more. If you do not have one of the required forms of ID, you can apply for a free voter authority certificate. The deadline to apply is 5pm on Wednesday 24 April 2024.

If you are unable to vote in person you can apply to vote by post or appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf.

If you wish to apply for a postal vote, please note that we must receive your application by 5pm Wednesday 17 April 2024. You will not need photo ID to vote by post. If you wish to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf, they will need to go to your polling station and have their own photo ID to vote on your behalf. The deadline for proxy applications is 5pm Wednesday 24 April 2024.

Where is my polling station?

If you are on the electoral register, you will be sent a poll card before the election telling you where and when to vote. You can only vote at the polling station stated on your poll card and you will need an accepted form of photographic ID to vote in a polling station.

Great Paxton District Ward By-Election - Thursday 2 May 2024

A by-election will be held on Thursday 2 May 2024 for one seat on Huntingdonshire District Council in the Great Paxton Ward.

If you wish to stand as a candidate in this election nomination papers are available from the Elections Office by emailing elections@huntingdonshire.gov.uk. Nomination papers may be submitted from Tuesday 26 March 2024 and the final date to submit nomination papers is 4pm, Friday 5 April 2024.
