From May 2023 voters in England will need to show photo ID to vote at polling stations in some elections. To find out more, visit the Voter ID page.

The next scheduled elections in Huntingdonshire will be held on Thursday 2 May 2024 to elect a Police and Crime Commissioner for Cambridgeshire.

The next UK Parliamentary general election must take place no later than 28 January 2025.

Yaxley and Farcet County Division By-Election - Thursday 21 March 2024

A by-election will be held on Thursday 21 March 2024 for one seat on Cambridgeshire County Council in the Division of Yaxley and Farcet.

The deadline to register to vote in this election is Tuesday 5 March 2024. At these elections, you will need to provide photographic identification before you can vote at a polling station. Read our voter ID page to learn more. If you do not have one of the required forms of ID, you can apply for a free voter authority certificate. The deadline to apply is 5pm on Wednesday 13 March 2024.

If you are unable to vote in person you can apply to vote by post, or appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf. If you wish to apply for a postal vote, please note that we must receive your application by 5pm, Wednesday 6 March 2024. If you wish to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf, the deadline for applications is 5pm, Wednesday, 13 March 2024.
