Bins & Waste

1. Definitions

Company: The skip hire provider.

Customer: The individual, business or organisation hiring the skip.

Hire Period: The agreed duration of the hire.

Site: The delivery and collection location.

2. Booking and Payment

Payment is required in advance unless otherwise agreed. Additional services, other than standard
skip hire, may incur extra charges.

3. Delivery and Collection

Delivery and collection dates are estimates and not guaranteed. The Customer must ensure clear and
safe access. Failed visits may incur additional fees. We can give no guarantee as to specific timing of
delivery or collection of a skip – all timings are estimates and are subject to change on the day of
delivery or collection.

4. Skip Placement and Permits

Placing skips on block paving, tarmac, slabbed driveways, manholes, drain covers, soft and unlevel
ground is NOT advisable and is done so at the customer’s risk.

Permits are required for skips placed on public highways. The Customer must ensure compliance with
local regulations, and as such The Company will apply for permits on behalf of The Customer at an
additional fee of £75, to cover the permit fee and additional administrative costs.

5. Permitted and Prohibited Waste

Only agreed waste types are permitted. Prohibited waste includes, but is not limited to, asbestos,
plasterboard, chemicals, batteries, liquids, oil and paints, furniture and soft furnishings, tyres (unless
agreed), gas cylinders, fluorescent light bulbs, and electrical items. Additional charges apply if
prohibited waste is found. Please see the webpage for more details of prohibited waste.

6. Loading the Skip

Waste must not exceed the top edge of the skip. Overloaded skips may not be collected until corrected.

7. Hire Period

Standard hire period is 14 days unless otherwise agreed. Additional time may incur extra charges,
unless agreed beforehand.

8. Responsibility and Liability

The Customer is responsible for the skip during the hire period, including any damage or loss.

9. Damage to Property

The Company is not liable for surface damage.

10. Access and Site Conditions

The Customer must ensure suitable ground and access conditions. The Company is not liable for
damage due to unsuitable conditions.

11. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations within 24 hours of agreed delivery may incur a fee. No refund once delivered unless
agreed.

12. Environmental Compliance

All waste will be disposed of in accordance with UK regulations. The Customer must describe waste
accurately – at the discretion of The Company, any waste that contaminates the purpose of the
original rental may incur additional contamination costs.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

14. Additional Charges (Optional Add-Ons)

The rental of any skip comes with a free weight allowance of contents of 1,500kg, except skips rented
purely for soil or hardcore, which are exempt of the weight-free allowance. Any skip where the
contents weigh in excess of 1,500kg, at the disposal weighbridge, is subject to an overweight fee.

This fee is calculated at £22 per additional 100kg, or parts thereof. Failure to pay this additional overweight fee may result in legal action being taken against The Customer, and any future requests for
skip rental being declined.

Specialist Waste: At the discretion of The Company, there may be an additional fee for disposing of
prohibited waste. The charge will be in line with local trade disposal costs.

Plasterboard: Due to the complexities of disposing of plasterboard, any skip found with plasterboard
in it, and not described in the initial rental purpose, will be subject to a minimum contamination fee of
£50. This could increase significantly based on the volume of plasterboard contamination.

Plasterboard can be disposed of in a specific designated skip, if requested at the time of booking.
Should The Customer wish to dispose of small quantities of plasterboard, then refer to our Bulky
Waste Service.

Illumination beacons, cones, can be supplied at an additional cost to The Customer.

Emergency Collection: If an urgent delivery or collection is requested with less than 24 hours' notice,
The Company may charge an additional priority service fee of £50.
