Residents and visitors are invited to show their support for local businesses this spring with the launch of the St Ives Shop, Drink and Dine Loyalty Card, a new town wide scheme running from 1 April to 31 May 2026.

The loyalty scheme is designed to boost footfall, encourage repeat visits, and promote longer stays in the town centre as well as provide customers with the chance to win a locally sourced hamper worth over £300.

Deputy Chief Executive and Corporate Director for Place, Mike Gildersleeves, said: “This scheme is a great way to encourage people to explore and support St Ives’ fantastic local businesses. The loyalty card makes it easy for residents and visitors to shop locally, and the prize draw adds a fun incentive to get involved.”

The loyalty card scheme supports the Council’s Economic Growth Plan and Tourism Growth Plan, forming part of ongoing efforts to celebrate and strengthen St Ives’ vibrant town centre. It encourages residents to “shop local” and discover the wide range of independent businesses that contribute to the town’s character and economy.

This scheme is fully financed by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund with funding allocated to Huntingdonshire District Council by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority.

How the loyalty card works

From 1 April, customers can collect a loyalty card from any participating business. Each time they spend £5 or more in a single transaction, they will receive one stamp, with 10 stamps completing the card and qualifying the customer for entry into a prize draw.

Participants can submit their completed cards by returning them to The Oliver Cromwell, St Ives or by emailing a photo of the completed card to economic.development@huntingdonshire.gov.uk. There is no limit to how many cards a customer can complete, and every full card counts as a separate prize draw entry.

Each winner will receive a locally sourced hamper worth over £300, packed with products from St Ives businesses. There will be 2 prize draws and winners will be contacted directly with the details they provide on the card.
