Proposals for a new railway line between Bedford Station and Cambridge Station with other associated works to the railway network in and around Oxford, Bicester, Winslow, Bletchley, and Bedford.

The proposed scheme provides opportunities to unlock jobs, homes, and growth for current and future residents in Huntingdonshire. The new station at Tempsford allows connectivity with the existing East Coast Mainline station as well as connection opportunities for St Neots residents and businesses.

The scheme could also provide a further drive for growth in and around St Neots and Huntingdonshire as a whole, providing opportunities for existing and future residents.

The project will be divided into three connection stages:

  • Connection stage 1: Oxford – Bletchley/ Milton Keynes. This stage is currently in progress.

  • Connection stage 2:  Bletchley/ Milton Keynes – Bedford

  • Connection stage 3: Bedford – Cambridge

The second and third stages are currently in development by EWR and will be included in this DCO.
