Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) is beginning to roll out its brand new 'Community Health Prevention Project' thanks to a successful bid to Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Integrated Care System for £250,000.

Contributing to health improvement, HDC will build on the successful work of last years 'Health Inequalities Project'. The project will work with a range of trusted voluntary groups and community sector partners to deliver a coordinated programme, part of which aims to address cardiovascular disease and frailty prevention.

We will be offering a range of free activities, delivered by the One Leisure Active Lifestyles Team, throughout the summer period. The activities will include Active Parks, Morning and Lunchtime Kickabouts, Open Play Racquets, PEDALS for older adults and Evening Walks.

Active Parks will use the outdoor spaces in Huntingdonshire to engage families in a variety of activities. Morning and Lunchtime Kickabouts, Open Play Racquets, PEDALS and Evening Walks aim to encourage adults to increase their activity levels.

Sessions relating to the project will begin on Monday 31 July 2023, with the first Active Parks session being held at Brampton Memorial Centre 10am - 11am.
