Eligible households in Huntingdonshire that have not yet applied for the £400 non-repayable energy bill payment from the Energy Bills Support Scheme Alternative Funding (EBSS AF) need to act fast before the deadline of 31 May 2023.

Over £200,000 has been paid out so far to eligible households. Households eligible to apply for support under EBSS AF include:

  • park home residents

  • tenants who pay for their energy through a landlord with a commercial supply

  • partly and wholly self-funded care home residents

  • houseboats on residential moorings

  • households on a private electricity network

  • off-grid households

  • traveller households on authorised sites and

  • domestic farmhouses paying on a commercial supply.

In addition to the £400 payment, eligible households that don't have access to the mains gas grid and use alternative fuels as their main form of heating, which could include:

  • oil

  • biomass

  • bottled gas

Can also receive a one-off £200 payment known as Alternative Fuel Payment (AFP).

This £200 payment is on top of the £400 from their electricity supplier, making it a total of up to £600 in savings.

If you have not yet applied for either of these schemes, please submit an application as you may be entitled to this money.

Executive Councillor for Customer Services, Cllr Stephen Ferguson, said:

"We want to make sure that all eligible households are aware of this opportunity and take advantage of it before the 31 May deadline. If you have still not submitted an application for either of these schemes then I urge you to apply so you can get the support that you are entitled to."

Residents can apply for these schemes until Wednesday 31 May 2023.
