Huntingdonshire District Council is delighted to once again be teaming up with Wild About Huntingdon to bring back WildFest, a free community event celebrating the incredible wildlife, green spaces and natural beauty found across Huntingdonshire.
Taking place as a free, one-day event, WildFest aims to bring together families, nature enthusiasts, local organisations and community groups for a day of outdoor activities, entertainment and wildlife-focused experiences.
Save the date for Sunday 26 July 2026 from 11am - 5pm at Riverside Park, Huntingdon.
Following the success of Wild About Huntingdonshire last summer, WildFest returns for its second year, offering a fun-filled day for residents of all ages to discover local nature, learn new skills and be inspired to connect with and care for the environment around them.
Visitors can look forward to a packed programme of attractions and activities, including:
-
Ouse Valley Radio attendance
-
chainsaw carving demonstrations
-
live performances
-
tractors and rural displays
-
food and drink stalls
-
inflatable obstacle course
-
the chance to meet a dinosaur!
-
paddle boarding sessions on the river
-
information and activities from local environmental and community organisations.
The event celebrates the importance of protecting local wildlife and habitats while encouraging people to spend more time outdoors and discover the natural spaces that make Huntingdonshire such a beautiful place to live.
WildFest is dog-friendly, although all dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
Councillor Julie Kerr, Executive Councillor for Parks and Countryside, Waste and Street Scene, Group Leader said:
"Following the fantastic response to last year's event, we're thrilled to be bringing WildFest back for a second year. Huntingdonshire is home to some amazing wildlife and beautiful natural spaces, and this event is a wonderful opportunity for people of all ages to celebrate, learn and be inspired to take positive action for nature. Whether you're interested in wildlife, conservation, outdoor activities or simply looking for a great family day out, we look forward to welcoming you to WildFest."
